OATMEAL AND HONEY CRUST PIZZA

A healthy whole wheat pizza with herbs,
ground turkey, spinach and low-fat cheeses.
Serves: 6
Serving Size: 2 slices

Preheat oven to 450 degrees and preheat a saucepan to medium heat. In a large bowl, sprinkle the
packet of yeast over one cup of warm water. Drizzle the honey over the top of the water and yeast
mixture and let sit for 10 minutes or until the yeast becomes foamy on top of the water.
While the yeast is rising, put the turkey in the saucepan, add 2 teaspoons of oregano and continue to
break it up and cook until the yeast mixture is ready. Cover the saucepan, turn the burner to low and
let sit until brown, about 5 minutes. Remove the excess grease and set aside until it's time to add the
turkey to the pizza.
Pour the oatmeal into a blender and chop until it's turned into a fine powder. Add oatmeal powder into
the yeast mixture along with the wheat flour. Mix and then let rise for 10 minutes. After the dough has
risen, coat your hands in some wheat flour and roll and knead the mixture into a smooth doughy ball.
Grease a circular pan with the canola oil. Spread the dough onto the surface and flatten out. In a small
bowl mix the tomato sauce, tomato paste and oregano together. Pour the sauce onto the dough and
smooth out evenly with the back side of a spoon. Add the colby-jack cheese, then the spinach, and fi-
nally the ground turkey.
Put the pizza in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes. Remove, cut into 8 slices and enjoy.
